Judicator Aldaris is classic StarCraft's stern face of Protoss orthodoxy: a Conclave leader who believes tradition is survival. He is not cartoon evil - he is certainty turned into a weapon.
Aldaris speaks for the Khala's order while Aiur burns. When Tassadar allies with Dark Templar and challenges Conclave doctrine, Aldaris labels him a traitor. Missions like Homeland and The Trial of Tassadar put players on the wrong side of their own people, with Aldaris as the voice of that civil war.
His tragedy is sincerity. Aldaris truly believes Dark Templar heresy will doom the Protoss. That conviction makes him oppose the only alliance that can kill cerebrates permanently. In StarCraft's best political writing, the obstacle is not ignorance - it is faith.
Brood War continues his arc among Aiur's survivors on Shakuras. He remains suspicious of Dark Templar leadership and of Kerrigan's "help". In The Insurgent, that suspicion becomes open revolt - and his final moments expose how thoroughly Kerrigan has already poisoned Protoss politics.
Aldaris endures because he makes Protoss pride feel dangerous. Without him, Tassadar's rebellion would have no cost. With him, every alliance feels like blasphemy until history proves otherwise.
