Sakura Kasugano is one of the most beloved characters in Capcom's Street Fighter series—a cheerful Japanese high-school student who became a fighter after watching Ryu compete. She debuted in Street Fighter Alpha 2 in 1996 and quickly won fans with her energy, optimism, and homemade take on Ryu's martial arts.
Unlike the wandering warriors she admires, Sakura is still a student living an ordinary life between tournaments. She wears a pink karate gi with a red ribbon in her hair, and her personality is bright, competitive, and a little clumsy.
